Thank you for your question. It appears as though your nipple is still in the early phases of healing. It is normal for there to be some crusting and peeling of the nipple following the grafting. It is important you discuss with your doctor how he/she prefers to handle nipple grafts. In my practice we have the patient place silvadene ointment on twice a day with a bandaid for three weeks following the procedure. This helps prevent infection and allows the nipple to take well. Hi, Thanks for the post and photo. It does not appear infected based on the photo. The redness typically happens as a result of the skin reaction to the stitches that were there.
