Sliding genioplasty screw removal general anesthetic?

I have recently had a sliding genioplasty performed with great results. my only issue is a slight visible bulge on one side due to the plate/screws. So my question is does plate and screw removal after a sliding genioplasty typically require general anesthetic, or can it be done in clinic with local?
