Most likely you would be just fine, but there are some risks, and I don’t think they are worth taking. First, if you get an infection within the filler, it can lead to permanent changes in your lips. This is rare and extremely unlikely, but the consequences can be devastating. Second, even if you don’t get an infection, filler that is exposed to bacteria can lead to nodules or granulomas. These are hard areas of scar tissue that may be permanent. Again, this is rare, but I wouldn’t take the chance.
I would recommend completing the antibiotics and receive lip injections a week after. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Yes. There is no contraindication injecting a dermal filler in the lips, just because a patient is on antibiotics for a different reason.
Even though the site of infection is not in close proximity to your face , I would rather wait till you finish your treatment and get fillers once the infection has been properly treated.
Avoid injectables while you are undergoing treatment for infections. Wait until your surgeon clears you from the staph infection.
Dermal fillers can be performed anytime- there is no rush. If the filler were to get infected this could be the beginning of a bad and very long road for you. No need to risk that. I'd wait until you're several weeks to months out from the infection before introducing another substance (like fillers) into your body. Safety First!Hope this helps and God Bless!Dr. Robb
Thank you for your question. It is always best to be safe and wait after the infection has been treated properly before getting any dermal fillers injections. All the best, Dr. Michon
I would NOT offer you any injections to face until your course of antibiotics is completed and the staph (MRSA?) infection is cured. Best to be safe.

Thank you for your question. Surgical and non-surgical treatments (including fillers) are the treatments that can fix a downward smile. I suggest that you consult with your board certified facial plastic surgeon. Best wishes,
