Thick incision scar after breast aug. Will it fade? (Photo)

Hi there. It is a little surprising that one scar us different to the other. Is this revision surgery? Mostly scars settle down by themselves with time (and it's likely that yours will) though at Body Recon 

I would not be concerned at this early stage. Scars take at least 6 months to mature so it is too early to predict its final outcome. I suggest you speak to your PS regarding scar management to get the best result

You are still very early in the post-op period.  Don't worry too much just yet.  You should discuss your concerns with your PS and they can recommend scar management techniques to improve the final scar appearance.

Good morning!Three weeks is too early to be concerend about surigcal incisions.  Ask your PS if you should begin any sort of scar therapy regimen to minimize your scars.I hope this helps

The bunching of your scar on your one breast should soften and flatten out over time.  It's too soon to worry just yet because you are only 3 weeks out from surgery.  Scars will remodel over the year so try to be patient and give it some time.  Keep an eye on it and be sure to let your surgeon know your concerns.  ac

are certainly valid as they do not look alike.  However, the side with the bunched skin will eventually 'unbunch' as you heal.  Focus on whether the scar is getting thicker or raised and if you appreciate that, talk to your surgeon for strategies to help turn it back.

Each surgeon has his/her own protocol to treat scars.  It is only 3 weeks post op and they will change markedly over the next 6 months to a year.  Discuss your post op scar care with your surgeon.

It is very early still and scars take about 12 months to fully mature. They will improve significantly in this te.  You should tape the scars with some micro pore tape and massage with some vitamin E, bio oil or silicon based cream.rarely you may get a condition called hypertrophic scarring.you should notify your surgeon for some reassurance after they have seen the scar.

You are correct that deep stitches most likely pulled more skin towards the incision to take pressure off the scar.This is a common occurrence but usually occurs on both sides.The surgeon may simply have placed more tissue in the sutures on this side.However this early after breast augmentation this plumping or protruding of the scar almost always becomes smooth by 4-6 weeks.See your plastic surgeon and ask if massages permitted as in my experience this usually helps a great deal.

It is really too early to worry about the end result of the scar.  Surgeons have many different scar protocols.  I suggest that you talk with your surgeon and ask for his/her recommendation.I like to use tape on my patients for about a month.  After that, I recommend a silicone product (Kelocote).  It can take 6-12 months for a scar to finally settle down.Give it some time and ask your surgeon.
