I have always been self conscious of the way my body looks because I have A-cup breasts, 25'' waist and really big but and thighs (39'') . I really just want a more proportionate body and more of an hourglass figure. I am 17, going to be 18 July 16th but I want to get the procedure early June. The reason being that I play sand volleyball from mid July until mid October and I want to be sure I have a lot of recovery time the whole month of June. I have full parental consent and family approval.
Answer: Your options There are two great options to consider: 1. IDEAL implants - these are newly released "hybrid implants" double lumen saline implants made to feel like silicone2. I will place silicone implants in patients under 22 yrs old but first have an informed consent and have them sign a waiver that they are aware that they are being used in "off label' FDA use. #IDEALimplants#breastaugmentation#breastimplants

Answer: Implants before 18 y/o can certainly be done but life is more than having perfect proportions and if your sports career is very important to you, consider delaying it until you are done. If you need it for your 'image', then its importance increases and go for it fully understanding the risks and what the future holds for those with implants. Saline implants above the muscle are notorious for rippling badly so beware.

Answer: Gel implants under 18 Unfortunately for you, the FDA has limited the use of gel implants to only women 22 or older. Don't ask me why it is 22 and not 18. Technically, they could be placed in you but if you read the fine print on the warranty for gel implants it is void under the age of 22. For "reconstructive" surgery (gross asymmetry or congenital deformities) they can be used but the warranty is generally not an issue if insurance is paying for it. For a cosmetic augmentation you really only have the option of saline implants. I would likely wait until you are 18 or older to do the operation. Under the age of 18 you would need parental consent. If you want silicone, from a legal standpoint you have to wait until age 22.Here is a quote from a website regarding this. The link to this site is below.4. Are there any age limits with respect to who can get breast implants? Mentor and Allergan (formerly Inamed) saline-filled breast implants are approved for: (1) reconstruction (primary reconstruction and revision-reconstruction) in women of any age and (2) augmentation (primary augmentation and revision-augmentation) in women 18 years or older. Mentor and Allergan silicone gel-filled breast implants are approved for: (1) reconstruction (primary reconstruction and revision-reconstruction) in women of any age and (2) augmentation (primary augmentation and revision-augmentation) in women 22 years or older. FDA restricts the marketing of breast implants for augmentation to women of a minium age because young women’s breasts continue to develop through their late teens and early 20s and because there is a concern that young women may not be mature enough to make an informed decision about the potential risks. However, there is there is no age restriction on the marketing of these products for reconstruction, so as to allow young women to have access to breast implants to replace breast tissue that has been removed due to cancer or trauma or that has failed to develop properly due to a severe breast abnormality.

Answer: Breast implants at 17 almost 18 While it is not something common that I do in someone under 18, I would sit you down with your parents to discuss the options. Good luck in your decision.

Answer: Can a fully matured 17 year old get breast implants a few months before her 18th birthday? It can be done, but if you were my patient I would want your parents present at the consultation and also to have them completely on board.
