Is it normal to get a red (slightly raised) rash the day after Venus Viva?

I can see small red bumps on the skin (the skin is a bit red too) The MD says it’s normal but just want to put it out there. How long does this take to disappear? Also - anyone heard of or using the new Tixel for their skin. Any advice on what to expect down time and aftercare

Dear patient, There are 2 types of Venus Viva. Non ablative Diamond hand piece tightens the skin with no downtime. I believe you had the ablative nano-fractional radiofrquency treatment. Yes- 36 tiny insulated needles go under the skin and  inject radio-frequency energy to tighten the skin and promote Collagen synthesis. It is very normal to see mild inflammation in the form of tiny bumps on the skin. i keep the area moist with Aquaphore and these spots resolve in 2 to 3 day. I hope this was helpful.

It's completely normal to be red or blotchy a few days after radiofrequency treatments.
I suggest a combination approach of :
  
For facial rejuvenation I would suggest a combination approach of :
  
1) skin care with products and PRP/microneedling
  
2) PDT light therapy few times a month with growth factors
  
3) laser treatments like clear and brilliant regularly and a few times a year Fraxel, Viva, Co2/Erbium
  
4) Sculptra injections a few times a year for collagen production with fillers like juvederm/restylane/belotero/radiesse/bellafill
  
5) thermage/ultherapy for yearly skin tightening with or without PDO or cone based instalift threads for lifting
  
6) botox every 2-3 months to stop movement lines and prevent lines at rest

Thank you for your question.In my experience, patients experience a red, slightly raised or swollen like rash to the entire face after a Venus Viva treatment, which usually lasts for about 2-3 days. Applying sunscreen daily and a thin layer of Vaseline can help with any irritation, tightness, or dryness. I highly recommend you consult with the provider who performed the laser therapy regarding any further questions or concerns. Take care and good luck.
