I just got a tummy tuck and the scar is huge. how long do I have to wait till I can treat over the scar with VIVA.
Answer: It is recommended to wait 4-6 weeks post surgery to do any laser treatments Abdominoplasty scars can be quite complex, ranging from the simple hypertrophic scar to a multiplane inflamed keloid. Pigmentation, discoloration, chronic inflammation, scar visibility can all occur in the short term. We begin each treatment with combination therapy using Yellow broadband BBL, Vbeam, fractional erbium, intralesional IIT, and scar modulation. Start with a combination of Plato's Scar Serum massaged twice daily after one week of epithelialization followed by Luminase/Exfolase. Scar consultation and revision may be recommended. Answer: Tummy tuck and breast scars can be treated with venus viva Thank you for this very relevant question. I treat many patients after skin cancer, breast and abdominal surgery with both Mixto fractional Co2 laser and microneedling/RF (Venus Viva). Every patients is different and I examine my patients to see when the scar is ready for resurfacing or treatment with Venus Viva. My general rule is that 2 to 6 weeks after the sutures have been removed is the ideal time to improve a scar with either laser or RF/Micro needling. This procedure is usually repeated monthly for 2-3 months. Generally speaking scars can be significantly improved with a serious of 3 sessions. Occasionally scars get infected or sutures open per-maturely (dehiscence). In those cases I usually wait longer than 4 weeks to start the laser or Venus Viva treatments. As mentioned previously; every patient is different. the thickness of the skin and texture and color of the skin and the location of the scar all play a role in the timing of the revision procedure. I hope that this was helpful.

Answer: Three to six months after surgery It's crucial to postpone Venus Viva treatment until your stomach tuck scar has completely healed. It usually takes three to six months after surgery, or longer if your plastic surgeon recommends it. Early scar treatment could delay healing and increase the risk of problems. Always seek advice from your dermatologist or healthcare practitioner regarding the best time to have Venus Viva treatment after a stomach tuck in order to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Answer: Venus Viva For Scarring Scarring is hard to treat just by using a radio frequency device such as venus viva. It is often necessary to break up scar tissue and use a skin booster filler material. It all depends of course on the severity of the scar. I would recommend a consultation with an aesthetic doctor to assess an appropriate treatment. Best Wishes Dr Ian Hallam MBE
