I have been cautioning readers, particularly those with skin of color (SOC), to be especially cautious about the use of lasers and other energy-based devices. For one, they are expensive "bells and whistles" whose hard science to back of their use lags well behind the heavy marketing and social media influencer hype to promote them. In SOC, they run the additional risk for the development of often difficult to treat dyspigmentation problems, as appears to be the case here. PRP for aesthetic reasons is likewise backed by a whole lot of hype. So, I am unfortunately not surprised at all by your question. You would be wise to consult a board certified cosmetic dermatologist to discuss the in-office use of a series of superficial peels (high concentrations of glycolic or salicylic acid; Jessner's solution: or low concentrations of TCA) accompanied by the at-home, regular use of prescription bleaching agents.
