Thanks for an excellent question. You will need to get clearance by your hematologist and have him/her decide what extra factor you may need to take around the time of surgery. I would also recommend you have your surgery at a facility that does have a blood bank, overnight capacity, and a general medical staff to help your surgeon if there are issues with bleeding.
