Implant removal + mastopexy downtime - When can I fly?

Hi @llluz, thank you for your question. It could be enough time, however it will always depend on the inflammatory state that each patient presents. From my practice I always recommend my patients to wait between 12 to 15 days to be able to fly without any inconvenience. Consultation with your specialist surgeon will always be necessary so that you have all the information clear and an adequate surgical plan. Best wishes!

Absolutely. I recommend my patients to stay in Istanbul for 6 nights total and it is perfectly safe to fly home even after 4-5 nights. Best of luck to you

I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors.
It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.

For my out of town patients, I always ask them to plan to be in Los Angeles for at least 10-12 days. This allows ample time (usually) for all sutures and drains to be removed.

No, only staying 12 hours after surgery is not recommended nor safe. You do need to be checked by your surgeon to make sure all is healing well. Plus, it is advised not to fly for 30 days after surgery to decrease the risks of blood clots. Find someone in your area instead to do your surgery.

This question is best answered by your surgeon who is most familiar with your medical history and surgical plan. Typically you will want to remain near your surgeon for 1-2 weeks post op depending on your particular situation. A long flight puts you at higher risk of blood clot development. In addition to moving around the cabin as safety allows, compression socks, and moving your ankles when seated, your surgeon may suggest medications to lower your risk of complications.
