Can Radiesse (Calcium Hydroxylapatite) be absorbed fully? Why do many people's Radiesse still remain after so many years?

Radiesse normally will last about 12-18 months for most people and it will be fully resorbed by that time.  It is not a permanent filler.  

The calcium component of Radiesse is delivered within a gel medium. The gel gets reabsorbed within 2-3 months. The inflammation process that reabsorbs the gel is what leads sometimes to those painful small nodules. They always go away once the gel is fully reabsorbed. You can improve the painful nodules by injecting  combination of Kenalog/5-FU. The calcium component stays longer (usually we say 12-18 months). One of the best properties of Radiesse is that it stimulates collagen production, therefore with time, you can start seeing build-up of collagen. Because of these properties, and the less likelihood of dissolving it with an enzyme, Radiesse injections should be performed by an injector with vast experience with the product.
