Answer: Hyaluronic Acid Fillers Work Best For Under Eye Bags, Dark Circles & Tear Troughs I am so sorry that you are having this difficulty. Unfortunately, Radiesse is not recommended for use within the thin skin under the eyes, since it is well known to be prone to lumpiness in that region and because there is no enzyme for dissolving it, as there is for hyaluronic acid fillers. Although they can be dissolved, quite frankly, even most hyaluronic acid fillers are not recommended for use under the eyes, since they, too may cause lumps or give rise to the unwanted, bluish Tyndall Effect when in the thin, delicate tissues of the region.Belotero Balance is my filler of choice for this region in my Upper East Side Manhattan office and Teosyal Redensity II in my Israel satellite facility, where a far greater number of regulatory agency approved fillers and volumizers are available. Treating under the eyes is not for novice injectors accustomed to treating ordinary smile lines with fillers. It is a very advanced injection procedure that should only be performed by experienced board certified aesthetic physicians.Regarding the Radiesse, although injectable Kenalog may be helpful, I have also had some success with the use of injectable saline to break up the Radiesse with the goal of hastening its dissolution. You might also consider seeking a second opinion for this treatment. Best of luck to you.

Answer: How to remove Radiesse in tear troughs? Unfortunately, there is no non-surgical method to remove Radiesse once it is injected. In general, I do not recommend using anything other than hyaluronic acid fillers (such as Restylane) under the eyes. Hyaluronic acid fillers are softer and generally produce better results under the eyes. If there are any lumps that develop with hyaluronic acid fillers, these can be easily dissolved. The Radiesse under your eyes will eventually go away, but this will take months. It is possible you could have a hyaluronic acid filler injected around the Radiesse to help even it out.

Answer: Getting rid of calcium hydroxyapatite Unlike the hyaluronic acid-based fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, Belotero), Radiesse cannot be dissolved away with an enzyme. Although I do recognize the asymmetry you have, I would try to still be patient. The microparticles of calcium hydroxyapatite in Radiesse are suspended in a gel that your body absorbs. As this gel portion continues to go away, the bit of lumpiness on the left could still resolve. You could also consider further injection of a hyaluronic acid-based filler to smooth out the problematic areas after further resorption of the gel compnent of the Radiesse. Best wishes for improvement!

Answer: Radiesse under eyes... Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, there is no easy answer. Radiesse cannot be dissolved like hyaluronic acid fillers can be. You may attempt to use intralesional injections of kenalog or 5FU in combination with RF like Venus Legacy to try to break up the filler and have it dissolve faster. Another option would be to inject hyaluronic acid filler like Restylane to attempt to smooth the first filler. Regards, Dr. Matt Elias
