breast reduction and lift about four months ago. I'm pleased with the shape and size, but I'm not happy with the size and shape difference of my areoles. They are about a half an inch different in length and width. The one one the right is also starting to develop raised reddish scarring. I have brought this to the attention of the surgeon and am not really happy with the response. Can someone please let me know how difficult this is to fix and the cost associated with it?

Answer: Breast Incisions I believe you have a very nice result from your breast lift. I see a minor discrepancy in the size of your areolas. At this point, I would wait a year after surgery for your scars to mature and flatten before considering any revision. You can try and get the larger areola reduced but know they never are perfectly identical.

Answer: Uneven areola I agree that you have a pleasing result. I would allow you to heal for 6-12 months before considering a revision. This is because things will continue to change. The left areola may stretch out during that time. These scars tend to improve with time. Things that you can do right now for your scars include massage and silicone gel sheeting. Other things to consider include steroid injections and laser treatment. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon.
