Is it worth purchasing the extended warranty on silicone Mentor Implants?

I had my BA done 4 weeks ago. I recieved 450 silicone mentor implants. It was pretty successful, minus some nerve pain. I'm curious if I should pay for the extended warranty. Not that $200 is that much compared to the $8200 for the procedure. Just curious if the free warranty is enough?

I recommend this to my patients as it adds piece of mind over the lifetime of the implants in case of any issues.

Thank you for the question bluegal212. When my patients ask about purchasing the warranty through Mentor I always say yes! Having any type of cosmetic procedure isnt cheap. Mentor is a great company that always stands behind their products. They are very durable and dependable but things can happen post surgery that arent expected. Having the warranty gives you peace of mind knowing if the implants need replaced or you need another surgery that they will help financially in replacing the implants.

Hi and thanks for sharing. If you spend the $200.00 now you will get coverage for 10 years for1. Rupture.2. Capsule contracture. 3. Double capsule. 4. Seroma. Without the extended warranty you only have coverage for rupture and no financial support. The biggest benefit, however, is that you can be reimbursed up to $3,500.00 towards surgery cost for 10 years and reduce dramatically your out of pocket expenses in the future. Thanks for question.  The short answer is YES.  While everything looks good now, for $200 you get great protection for any future problems including capsular contracture.  Not only will they replace the implants, then give you extra money for the procedure.  I usually advise my patient to purcahse the extra warranty.Good luck on the rest of your recovery.
