If so how do I relieve it or when will it go away? I recently had a breast reduction about 3 weeks ago and it’s been healing well until a few days ago I developed a pain on the sides of my ribs particularly the right one. It’s sore to the touch and kind of restricts my movement. I’m kind of concerned because I was hoping to get back to running in the gym soon.

Answer: Rib Pain After Breast Reduction Soreness and pain in the area of the ribs is not uncommon after having a breast reduction. Usually this resolves with time. I advise you to look out for shortness of breast, chest pain, fever, or chills as these can indicate issues that would require immediate follow up. Continue to monitor this area and keep your surgeon’s office up to date with your progress. Be sure to follow up with your surgeon regularly for in person visits as well. Best of luck with your continued healing.
