Hi and welcome to our forum!Pain after breast reduction is usually short lived, lasting for 6 weeks or so with gradual resolution. Persistent chronic pain one year after surgery most likely is the result of "early" nerve regeneration into the operative area which may present as dysthesia (abnormal sensation or pain). This may take a year or two to resolve. If the discomfort is significant enough to interfere with your activities of daily living, I recommend a visit to your plastic surgeon. Otherwise I would continue further watchful waiting.Best wishes...
Frequent sharp pains are usually associated with nerve pain. The nerves in your breast and nipple were cut during surgery. While these nerves are growing back and recovering, you can experience frequent sharp pains.
