Are patient care coordinators paid on commission?

Question

I met with several doctors & discussed pricing with patient care coordinators all pretty much the same price range for BBL. Unfortunately, the Dr I wanted to schedule my procedure with has a PCC that provided a much higher price than other offices for the same procedure. I have concerns she is just looking for a commission. She would not break down price like the other offices had provided me like lipo cost per area, transfer to buttox, etc. Is there someone else I can speak to? Any suggestions?

Hi and great question!It is really up to the specific office how their PCC are paid.  At my office we do not utilize a commission based structure because, I personally believe it would create a "high pressure sales environment" that I do not believe in.  At our office, I give an all inclusive price for (OR, Anesthesia & Surgeon).

I cannot speak for every office but I have two patient care coordinators that take care of me and my two partners. They do not get commission. Prices do vary from PS to PS. It may just be the policy in that particular office that they don't itemize the cost.

BBL pricing should be based on amount of fat being transferred to the buttocks as this will dictate the number of hours it will take you to complete your surgery. Everybody in the operating room, as well as the facility fees dependent on and paid by the number of hours. So you should find out exactly how much fat is anticipated to being removed and transferred in order to compare the fees.
