I need help with keloparis pilaris really bad i feel so ashamed ..Will laser removal help?

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Thank you for your question.  Keratosis pilaris (KP) is a dry skin condition that produces tiny bumps on the skin.  It cannot be cured and in the past treatments consisted of prescription creams and moisturizers that either removed dead skin cells (urea, aha, lactic and sal acids) or creams that helped prevent plugged follicles (retinoids, vitamin a derivatives).  While these showed ok results in most patients nothing was truly super effective.  Recently a new OTC product that promotes the proper skin microbiome has come along, called Mother Dirt, and we are seeing promising results in dry skin conditions like KP.  We have a bunch of patients who are using Mother Dirt for their KP and seeing far more remarkable results than any other treatment previously.  I suggest you follow up with your Board Certified Dermatologist to confirm your diagnosis of KP and if so discuss with your physician the use of Mother Dirt to treat your KP.  Regards, Dr. Matt Elias

Hello and I am sorry to hear your KP has so affected your life.  Laser is not the best approach to treating KP.  Another option would be the KP Kit by Glytone.  It includes an exfoliating body wash, a nylon body pouf and a body lotion that is put on right out of the shower.  The exfoliating body wash plus the nylon scrubbing pouf both chemically and physically break down the excess keratin  while showering and then the lotion keeps that area soft.  KP is often worse during the winter months.   My patients swear by this kit as it is the whole treatment package, is effective  and the results are seen very quickly.  Good luck and start treatment of some sort soon.
