Can I use tanning lotion after final V Beam treatment?

I'm going in on Tuesday for my final vbeam session for rosacea. Due to the per-procedure instructions I have stayed away from the sun/tanning lotions since a month before my first session. After my last session is it ok to start using self tanner again?

Excellent question. The reason you are asked not to use these products before treatment is because they can affect the outcome of the procedure. Once you have completed your treatments, you should be able to apply the tanning lotion without concern over complications. However, I would check with your doctor to see if you should have a waiting period between your last treatment and the application of the lotion. Good luck to you!

You are able to resume self tanner after your final treatment of Vbeam. Speak with your provider to determine how long to wait afterwards before you can resume self tanner.

In my opinion, it would be fine to use a self tanner after your final V beam treatment, but it is always best to ask the physician treating you about post treatment guidelines.

You asked a good question since you can't use self tanner before most lasers.  The reason that you can't use self tanners before lasers is that the laser will perceive the tan as "real" and you can get burned.  The same thing can happen with laser hair removal and you can end up with a laser burn.  Since you will no longer be doing the V-Beam and are finished with your treatments it is safe now to  use self tanner.  Please consult an expert in lasers for the best cosmetic results.  Best, Dr. Green
