I am 4 weeks post op breast reduction and am still bleeding consistently out of an opening at the t zone incision. Advise?

Dear Maddyszeryk,
this type of wound is not uncommon after breast reduction. It is usually caused by poor blood flow and increased tension. I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon, follow your surgeon's instructions and keep your wound clean and covered. It can take few weeks or months for wound to fully heal.

Wound healing complications are not uncommon after breast reduction surgery. Local wound care is the treatment. You should follow up with your plastic surgeon so that he/she can evaluate you, address your concerns, and develop a plan of care. Best of luck!

This  type of wound breakdown can be quite common after breast reduction surgery due to the tension on the suture line.  It may take several weeks to heal but usually further intervention is not required.  I advise my patients to shower twice daily and dry the wound with a hairdryer on the lowest setting before applying a dressing.  Show your PS and follow instructions.

Thank you for your question.From what I can see on the picture you have a small wound dehiscence which is quite common at the T junction. It doesn't seem infected. It will probably closed by itself with no further problem. Please keep the area clean and you can add a small amount of polysporin.I recommend you also follow up with your surgeonBest Wishes
