10 days PostOp BR no implants - Areola Bleed - Will it heal on its own? (photo)

Question

Lft areola is tender with a dull ache w/ no trauma. After feeling wet, thr was a silver dollar sized blood stain on my bra. Becuz of the tape, I’m not sure what is bleeding. I used gauze to clean w/hydrogen peroxide & took a shower. I added Neosporin and a band aid. Tht night the band aid had blood but was not soaked thru. I added more Neosporin and a new band aid. Is this normal for 10 days PostOp a BR? Should I be worried about a hematoma or broken stitches? Will this heal on its own?

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Small amounts of drainage and/or bleeding from your surgical incisions is not uncommon after surgery. You should follow up closely with your plastic surgeon and follow all of your plastic surgeon's postoperative instructions. Best of luck!

it is not uncommon to have drainage days-weeks post surgery If the drainage slows down and stops after 1-3 days and there is no redness spreading away from the opening, you’re fine to keep it clean and dry Neosporin is fine too Make sure to let your surgeon know Good luck Dr Taranow
