How long should I wait between LASIK and a breast reduction? Which do you recommend I do first? How long after can I travel?

So i want to get a breast reduction and lasik, basically to fix two things that have stopped me from doing a lot of things in my life. I need to know three things: 1.) How long should i wait between getting LASIK and getting a reduction? 2.) Which would you recommend I do first? 3.) How long after surgery can i fly overseas (from the US to Europe). I want to get these two procedures done then go on a trip across Europe to celebrate my graduation. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

I would wait a few months. I also recommend an in-office examination as well as a detailed discussion with a surgeon who you are comfortable with. Finally, make sure your surgeon is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS).

You will need to consult with a board certified opthalmologist to determine LASIK recovery and the staging of this surgery with a BR.Generally, BR recovery requires one to two weeks.  With respect to physical activity,  take it easy to start with. Much depends upon your health prior to surgery, and the level of physical activity and lifting following surgery. Your incisions must be healed before doing any strenuous activity. You do not want to do anything strenuous or that requires you to bend or stretch.  The board certified plastic surgeon who performs your surgery is the best one to recommend your period of recovery and will provide you with post-operative guidelines regarding when you can fly to Europe.

It’s crucial to consult with your surgery providers for recommendations. It’s recommended to wait at least several weeks between surgeries to allow for proper healing. The order depends on your health priorities and surgeon recommendations. Travel timing post-surgery also varies; your surgeon can guide you on when it’s safe to travel based on your recovery progress.

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. I cannot speak to the time necessary between Lasik and a breast reduction -- it is best to ask your ophthalmologist about this. With regards to have a breast reduction performed first - I suggest you wait at least 4 weeks before having lasix. With regards to which to perform first - I think that is up to you. With regards to flying, I recommend that you wait until you are completely healed before flying- usually about 3-4 weeks. Congratulations on your graduation gift!  Good luck!
