I've been on doxycycline for 6 months for hair loss. How long should I continue?

I've been on doxycycline for 6 mnths for hairloss (biopsy confirm lichenplanopolaris).Done 3 times prp. I'm on minoxidil for abt 7 mnths.Getting good results so far.No inflammation,less hairfall.So i stop the doxy for some days N my itching N burning started again so i started taking doxy again after 15 days.Now it's been 5 days n my itch N scalp tenderness is in control.How long sud i continue doxycycline? Wil my itch com back if i discontinue after several mnths?Do i have to take it lifelong?

Patient with LPP require immunpsuppressing and immunomodulating mediations for various length of time. For some it's short for others it's many years. A physician who follows you closely can guide you. The decision on what types of medications to use and how long comes from an up close examination as well as review of your symptoms and overall hair loss.
