Darolutamide for hair loss AGA: will the effectiveness of this agent fade after long-term use?

I’ve been using darolutamide topically for 3 months at very low dosages. After some shedding, I’ve finally come to a point of losing only about ~20 hairs a day, and hair is a lot thicker now. I’ve also started LLLT and estriol 2 week ago, but I am adamant that darolutamide is what saved me. Just wanted to know: - Will the effectiveness of this agent fade after long term use - any long term side affects ? Current the only side I can feel is dry eyes and less acne.. which is kind of good.

There aren't any long-term studies published on the long-term effectiveness of Darolutamide. I suggest seeing a hair loss expert now to evaluate and go over your condition and provide you information about your best treatment options. There are great non-invasive options like prp/progesterone and/or hair transplantation. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Dorolutamide is in phase 3 studies for oral use in the United States. You are using a topical compound. I don't believe enough studies have been completed and patients have been treated to determine the characteristics of this particular anti-androgen for hair loss. Most of the other anti-androgens do not lose Effectiveness while a few become partially ineffective. I believe you should work with a hair loss expert.

Darolutamide is still a research drug with no formal approval. Its use in hair loss has not been studied given it’s restricted use. There is no good data to answer your question.

According to Wikopedia: "Darolutamide is a nonsteroidal antiandrogen (NSAA) – specifically, a selective antagonist of the androgen receptor (AR) – which is under development by Orion and Bayer HealthCare for the treatment of advanced, castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC)" As such, we really don't know about its use for hair loss
