Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Unfortunately, it is impossible to make a recommendation based on the photo you provided. I can tell you there are numerous non-surgical options for scar revision, including injectable dermal fillers and laser devices. I encourage you to schedule an in-person assessment with a board-certified dermatologist with expertise in scar revision for a full evaluation and treatment plan tailored to your precise needs.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to tell from your photo what the scar looks like to make treatment recommendations. I can tell you that cleft lip scars, like other types of scars, usually respond well to a combination of treatments tailored to the precise needs, skin tone and desired results of the individual patient. I encourage you to schedule an in-person assessment with a board-certified dermatologist with expertise in scar revision. Through this examination and discussion of your concerns and goals, your doctor should be able to create an effective treatment plan tailored just for you.
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, this scar may need to be surgically removed for the best outcome, but fillers and lasers like ablative CO2 can help. Fillers may be able to camouflage in the short-term. I would suggest seeing an expert for a formal consultation. Best, Dr. Emer.
It is difficult to see your scar in your photos. However, your nasal symmetry looks very good for someone born with a cleft lip. This makes me think your scar is also likely more favorable than some. The scar itself could be treated with fillers, resurfacing using dermabrasion or lasers. However, simply excising the scar and providing a more precise closure now that your face has stopped growing may be the best option for an ideal outcome. That doesn't mean you need major surgery though. Please visit with a facial plastic surgeon experienced in cleft lip repair to find out.

I would suggest Plato's Scar Serum on the area twice daily with gentle massage followed by excision of the redundant skin as there may be a retained suture. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian
