Question

I did labiaplasty surgery last year and I believe this occurred from the stitches, it cause pain every time I touch it.  went to my doctor he said it might be nerve exposed from the surgery. What other solution can be given except surgery? Would Anesthesia injection help ?

I would suggest Plato's Scar Serum on the area twice daily with gentle massage followed by excision of the redundant skin as there may be a retained suture.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  I agree that this is likely the result of suture technique used with a small amount of excess tissue having been "trapped" between sutures.  If it has been 6+ months then talk to your surgeon about a small revision procedure to get rid of the area.  Hope this helps.

Sutures can cause reactive changes after surgery. Typically by a year they are all dissolved, but it is possible a piece of suture is poking and irritating the skin.A local antibiotic, like silvadene cream 2-3 x/ day may help calm down the issue.Best. Dr Brecht Seattle, Washington
