Juvederm or Restylane would be a great option to help shape your lips, its temporary and usually lasts 8-12 months, Its best you seek a reputable, board certified medical provider and schedule an in-person consult for a thorough evaluation
Pictures would definitely help, although an in-person assessment is most useful. Firstly, most people are actually asymmetric. Second, for a young person, a simple filler, sometimes with a little Botox, can actually reduce very nicely and safely the asymmetry.
I presume you have had a EMG of your face muscles to reflect no abnormal muscle pull. Are you symmetrical at rest?Need to arrive at a diagnosis before having a treatment plan. See a facial plastic surgeon and take all your results of the neurologist opinion with you to see whether fillers, Botox, or surgery might be possible.
I would love to help you, but cannot without more information. Can you post photos? Perhaps smiling, and at rest?
In our practice, we prefer to use Silikon-1000, an off-label filler for permanent results. Please consult several reputable physicians so you could see what might be best for you.Hope this helps.Dr. Joseph
Its difficult to say based on the photo you have shown, but it appears that your muscles that elevate your lips at an angle (levator anguli oris) may have different baseline tone. The lighting is not symmetric in the photos, but it appears that your left melolabial fold is more prominent...
Thanks for your question.Hyaluronic acid fillers are great choice for making the lip fuller and symmetric.HA fillers are reversable if needed by an injection.HA fillers can improve the shape of the lip but they last 6-9 months most of the time.Best wishes
Popcornn: One week is way too early to determine how the wound will heal. Wait a minimum of six months, then evaluate the scar. If you are unhappy with the appearance at that time then I would recommend you seek consultation for scar revision which is actually a pretty minor procedure...
Injecting the philrum of the lips is part of the technique we call the Paris lip injections to accentuate the philtrum and cupids bow. Belotero is a great filler for this purpose. Sincerely, David Hansen,MD
