Can fillers improve skin texture? (photo)

Question

I have very poor skin texture and have so far seen limited results from collagen inducing therapies such as fractional co2 and microneedling. Would fillers be able to improve my skin texture at all?

Fillers are a great option for texture and skin health - the biostimulatory fillers, such as Sculptra, Bellafill, and Radiesse - give the benefit of some immediate volume but with long term collagen stimulation, with more visible "glow" to the treated areas. These fillers are often used in combination with laser therapy for a boost in collagen growth.

I suspect you would see the best results regards to skin texture a properly done fractionated CO2 laser treatment combined with good at home skincare. I don't consider fillers a treatment for uneven skin texture although it can help with atrophic acne scars in some cases when combined with subcision.

Thanks for the question and photo. It depends on which one and how it is administered. The “skin brighteners” as they are referred to may help. These are injected into the dermis or applied as part of a microneedling procedure. The cost is a bit high for 4 months of correction. The longer lasting alternative is PRP microneedling injection. Maintainence skincare is also very important. Consult a board certified plastic surgeon if you want more details. Hope this helps.

Thanks for our question. There is in fact a filler designed for this use and it is called profhilo. You will need two treatments 4 weeks apart to get a good result and this will last around 6-9months. There alternatively are mesotherapy types treatments or fractional laser
