I had cohesive butt implants 2 years ago are these long lasting? And also when I have a child will these affect me? And afterwards having a baby or will they just change my appearance of my bum? And can these implants rupture ? Thankyou
Answer: 2 years post cohesive butt implants. Are they long lasting? Will pregnancy and child birth affect me or change the appearance? Cohesive silicone gel implants are not used in the US as they are not FDA approved. Opt for solid silicone butt implants which are made of highly durable material that resists rupturing, spilling, and deflating. Pregnancy should neither affect them nor cause them to have to be replaced.

Answer: Buttock implants its difficult to say how childbirth will affect your body. Usually the buttock maintains its appearance and doesn't sag afterwards. Many of my patients are still happy with their buttocks after having multiple children with no revisions neccessary.

Answer: Silicone (cohesive) gel buttock implants. Unlike breast implants, silicone gel buttock implants are not FDA approved and thus not legal for buttock implantation in the USA. I actually see about one patient a week that had gel implants done in another country and, although they looked a felt great at first, they are now seeking revision because the implants are either visible on top of the muscle and/or grossly deformed by flipping over, rotating, scar contracture and/or the implant has ruptured several years after placement leaving behind hardened scar tissue and migration of silicone liquid. Long story short, cohesive silicone gel implants in the buttock are high risk for problems. Thus, like breast implants, they need to be changed at least within 10 years of implantation and best to exchange them for FDA approved semi-solid soft silicone rubber buttock implants which maintain their shape and cannot rupture or leak.
