2 years post cohesive butt implants. Are they long lasting? Will pregnancy and child birth affect me or change the appearance?

I had cohesive butt implants 2 years ago are these long lasting? And also when I have a child will these affect me? And afterwards having a baby or will they just change my appearance of my bum? And can these implants rupture ? Thankyou

Unlike breast implants, silicone gel buttock implants are not FDA approved and thus not legal for buttock implantation in the USA. I actually see about one patient a week that had gel implants done in another country and, although they looked a felt great at first, they are now seeking revision because the implants are either visible on top of the muscle and/or grossly deformed by flipping over, rotating, scar contracture and/or the implant has ruptured several years after placement leaving behind hardened scar tissue and migration of silicone liquid.  Long  story short, cohesive silicone gel implants in the buttock are high risk for problems. Thus, like breast implants, they need to be changed at least within 10 years of implantation and best to exchange them for FDA approved semi-solid soft silicone rubber buttock implants which maintain their shape and cannot rupture or leak. Cohesive silicone gel implants are not used in the US as they are not FDA approved.  Opt for solid silicone butt implants which are made of highly durable material that resists rupturing, spilling, and deflating. Pregnancy should neither affect them nor cause them to have to be replaced.

These are a lot of questions. To be more precise I have copied and paste and answer one by one:1. I had cohesive butt implants 2 years ago are these long lasting?Yes most likely. Modern implants have no expiry date and do not have to be changed as long as they cause no problems. Please remember this applies to the implants. Bodies change too and an implant that is perfect for you today may not be perfect in 15 years, which is more likely to be a problem of your body changing than the implants 2.And also when I have a child will these affect me? They do not interfere in any way with the pregnancy as such. Regarding the aesthetic changes of your body, it is totally unpredictable if and how your body changes after pregnancy. This is like reading the future in the tea leaves. 3.And afterwards having a baby or will they just change my appearance of my bum?Please see answer 2 4.And can these implants rupture ? They can, although very unlikelyHope that helps !

its difficult to say how childbirth will affect your body. Usually the buttock maintains its appearance and doesn't sag afterwards. Many of my patients are still happy with their buttocks after having multiple children with no revisions neccessary.
