Most medications are processed by your liver, including accutane and alcohol. So why give your liver a double burden to process?Just because you are of legal age, you don't have to drink! It's just that you have the legal ok to do so, not that you have to!!Anything in moderation, so long as you're not allergic to it, it okay.Have a toast on your birthday, but whether or not you're on accutane, limit your alcohol and drink responsibly.
I see no problem with drinking alcohol in moderation as long as your liver enzymes are within normal limits. I would recommend avoiding excessive alcohol consumption and binge drinking with anyone whether they are taking Accutane or not. Accutane can potentially have some side effects related to liver toxicity and combining it with alcohol could make you at greater risk of these toxic effects. My patients are required to have monthly labs to check their liver enzymes to make certain their liver is tolerating the medications. Please be responsible.
You can safely drink minimal amounts while on Accutane, but you should not binge or drink excessive amounts. Really you shouldn't do this anyway.... Constipation would be causing your bleeding and not the Accutane. You should see a gastro physician about the constipation. Many times OTC things like fiber pills and Metamucil can help alleviate this, but it is always best to see a physician to discuss it. The bleeding is not from anus dryness...
