Thank you very much for your question.I'm sorry that happened to you.  I won't comment on your specific situation for various reasons, but I will say that, in general, it is recognized that a tummy tuck procedure has an increased risk of blood clots compared to other procedures we do in plastic surgery (so "no threat of a blood clot" isn't quite accurate).  Some surgeons (including myself) routinely give DVT/blood clot prophylaxis after tummy tucks.  I routinely have my patients take a prophylactic dose of Xarelto, an oral medication, for a week.  Other surgeons do not feel that it is necessary to give DVT/blood clot prophylaxis after tummy tucks.  Again, there is controversy in our literature about the best practice.The important thing is that your surgeon continues to care for you and you ultimately get a result you are happy with.  Best of luck!
