Did I raise my arms too soon after breast augmentation?

Question

I got 500cc silicone implants six days ago. They were placed under the muscle and the cut is under the breast. Well today I quickly, without thinking, raised my left arm up and over my head to reach for something. I felt my pec flex a lot and it hurt. Now my arm pit is sore. Both boobs still look and feel the same. I'm terrified of getting capsular contracture or messing something up. Should I be concerned? Did I raise my arm too soon? Should I go see my doc? Could I have shifted anything?

Thank you for your question.  You hit on the important aspects, if the breasts are the same size, there is no additional swelling, you have not done anything bad.  Moving your arms above your head, while it may make you sore, it will not ruin anything.

Thank you for your question.  Here at Stillwater Plastic Surgery, we encourage our patients to maintain full range of motion with their arms.  We do discuss that within the first few weeks to be cautious of sudden movements but to slowly return to normal daily activity within the first week.  However, every surgeon has their own thoughts and post operative instructions for their patients so my suggestion would be to contact your surgeons office and discuss your concerns with them directly.
