Are subglandular breast implants a safe cure for animation deformity after breast implant removal?

Placement of sub glandular implants will not eliminate animation deformity for sure as adhesions may be causing the issue and will not necessarily be resolved with another augmentation. There are some maneuvers that can be done during surgery to repair/tack the muscle down which may help.

I almost always place implants submuscular. It lowers the rate of capsular contracture significantly. In addition, it looks much more natural because the muscle provides covering over the implant so its not as round on the top. I've also noticed the implants drop less over time when they are protected under the muscle. However, in case of animation deformity subglandular placement can be an option. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Even with implants placed over the muscle, you still may have some animation distortion when you flex your muscles since scar tissue is attached to your muscles. However, for most women, placing the implants over the muscle helps hide some of this. It is not a "for sure" thing.
