Removing lump in upper eyelid caused by fat transfer to eyelids

Question

there has been a lump on my left upper eyelid after the pearl fat grafting. at first my surgeon told me to wait it off, but it has been one and half years and the lump is still there. i wrote an email to my surgeon (since i am currently abroad) and he said it could be removed through surgical excision very easily. is it safe to remove the lump through surgical excision? would it cause any harm to the surrounding tissue and to my eye? thank you very much for your answers!

Surgical excision in that area is very easy and typically does not leave a poor cosmetic outcome.  It can be done under local anesthesia with little risk, when done by a well trained physician.  I wish you the best of luck, Dr. Emer.

If you have a small piece of fat in the upper lid, this can be easily removed with local anesthesia and a small incision over the area.   After a year it will not go away on its own.

This not an uncommon scenario with fat grafting to the eyelids. It is possible to remove this through a limited access incision similar to the one used in upper Blepharoplasty. Can be done under local anesthesia.You have waited long enough and I doubt that it will settle or go away by now without surgical intervention.
