Drainless tummy tuck concerns. Why don't more surgeons use this technique?

I read that when doing a drain-less tummy tuck the skin is quilt stitched down to help hold it in place and close the gap between the muscles and skin but that the skin isn't pulled as tight as with no quilt stitching and using drains. Is this true? Why don't more surgeons use this technique?
