It's day 3, skin is thin there! I have severe edema on my face from Halo Pro by Sciton. Can the SEVERE swelling under my eyes (please see pics), cause permanent skin laxity once swelling is gone? It's day 3. I asked for intense trmt undereyes, as skin is crepey there. I'm on prednisone, benadryll, Avene after care kit, head on 2 pillows (30 deg each night), icing. I'm so worried about my under eyes!
Answer: Swelling post Halo Hello, The swelling which mostly seen around the eyes are normal phenomenon due to the inflammatory reaction which lead to collagen stimulation overtime. In our practice we consider short term steroid treatment if the swelling is effecting the vision. Otherwise the body inflammation response will lead to more collagen production and improved result. Keeping the head elevated, applying ice, avoid salty food would also minimize the swelling reaction. Best of luck

Answer: Under eye swelling after Halo I see you're about 4 days out since you posted your question. Under eye swelling is very common after halo especially for the first 2-3 days after treatment. I hope you're all better by now! I have patients take H1 and H2 blockers which I think helps reduce the swelling. Don't worry though, any swelling you experience will not cause permanent stretching of your eyelid skin. Be patient during the healing process. I tell patients that they will see their best results 10-12 weeks after the treatment. Best of luck and I hope you love your results!~Dr. Sieber

Answer: Swelling after Halo Thank you for your question and for submitting your photos. The extent of swelling you are experiencing is not uncommon after an aggressive Halo treatment, especially considering the fact that you underwent deep treatment under your eyes. It sounds like you're already doing all of the right things to help the swelling go down sooner. Most patients fully recover from a Halo treatment within 5-7 days. The skin has a remarkable ability to recover from stretching and injury, particularly on the face, and I don't anticipate that you will have any permanent laxity from your treatment. I also find that swelling is generally worst after the first Halo treatment, and that patients experience less swelling with subsequent treatments. Please follow-up with your treating physician if you have any concerns, or if your swelling persists. Best of luck!

Answer: This will settle in the next few days- swelling post HALO This swelling will settle over the next few days. The eyelid skin is the thinnest part of your body, and swelling is universal if laser is performed on this area. Given its day 3, it will start to subside by day 3-5. There will be no permanent skin laxity, as the skin in this area will nicely settle down. The before and afters at week 4-7 will tell the story. All the best, Dr Davin Lim.
