I have had Clear and Brilliant, but considering microdermabrasion due to cost and want to know what the difference is?

Clear & Brilliant laser treatments are great for pores, sun spots, skin laxity and texture.  Dubbed the "mini-fraxel" at our practice we recommend Clear & Brilliant treatments to patients of all ages and skin conditions (except active acne.)  Minimal to no downtime.Microdermabrasion is a deep exfoliation treatment that can be customized to the patient's skin condition and desires for improvement.  Popular for decades, microdermabrasion can also be used for special occasions, holidays, and excellent as bridal party treatments.  There is little or no downtime.Hope this helps.  Good luck.

This comes up all the time.  I love Clear + Brilliant for toning, texture improvement, and tightening pores.  But, a laser costs more to run than a non laser machine.   I offer Dermasweep treatments; which combine crystal free microdermabrasion with infusions on the abraded skin.  The infusions treat pigment, acne, dryness, redness, etc.  You wouldn't use all of these in one treatment.  Why don't you try one and see which you prefer?  Sometimes people alternate between the two machines.  Others like the dermasweep for regular maintenance.  They very the infusions with what is needed at the time. It will definitely be less expensive.

Clear and Brilliant is a "mini-Fraxel" laser which helps treats sun damage, sun spots, pore size, texture, and skin irregularities. What is amazing about it is that there is absolute no "down time." Clear and Brilliant is great for treating sun spots. It can alsoimprove fine lines and will improve skin texture, but neither Clear +Brilliant or Microdermabrasion will help significantly with the looseskin around your eyes. The Fraxel laser, which is more powerful andpenetrates deeper than the Clear + Brilliant laser may offer slightlybetter results. Fraxel stimulates collagen production and cellularturnover, which definitely improves skin tone, but probably will notprovide the skin tightening you are hoping for.  Thermage is anotherminimally-invasive treatment that stimulates collagen production usingradio frequency. It is designed to treat signs of aging around theeyes, including wrinkles and droopy eyelids. But generally speaking,skin laxity that results from aging and is exacerbated by frequentlyrubbing your eyes is hard to correct using non-invasive, inexpensivetreatments. For a long lasting, noticeable improvement Blepharoplasty,commonly known as eyelid surgery, may be the only realistic solution.It’s not cheap, and it’s a surgical procedure, but it’s very effectiveat improving skin laxity around the eyes.

Clear + Brilliant is a much different treatment then microdermabrasion. Clear + Brilliant is a laser treatment that can be used to visibly improve early signs of aging. It's often used in my clinic to treat hyperpigmentation, large pores, fine lines, textural abnormalities, and sundamage. The Permea handpiece for the Clear + Brilliant is also a great treatment option for melasma when combined with a good topical skin care regimen. Microdermabrasion is a much less aggressive treatment that works by exfoliating the skin. I would not recommend microdermabrasion for sun spots or skin tightening. The Clear + Brilliant would be great for hyperpigmentation (including sunspots) and will stimulate collagen production resulting in some firming of the skin. Depending on how much skin laxity you have, you may also consider an RF or ultrasound based skin tightening treatment. I often combine Clear + Brilliant with a chemical peel or microneedling for optimal results.
