Cellfina is an in office FDA approved procedure to treat the cellulite of the buttocks and posterior thighs. In my experience, it certainly improves the dimpling, but it does not completely eradicate all contour defomities. You may also need liposuction and / or fat grafting, depending on the problem being addressed. Good luck!
Cellfina is meant to be used on cellulite dimples on the buttocks and posterior thighs. In my clinic, we often combine the Cellfina with Ulthera. Ulthera is a skin tightening system the addresses skin laxity on the buttocks and above the knees. We have had excellent results when these two methods are combined together.
Cellulite affects people of all sizes and body types, occurring most commonly on the thighs and buttocks, and can be one of the most frustrating body issues since it doesn’t respond to diet or exercise. Cellfina™ is minimally invasive and is a great option for people who want to minimize the appearance of cellulite on their thighs and/or buttocks. To get your best results, you may require several treatments. You can also combine Cellfina™ with other treatments and procedures. Some people combine Cellfina™ with CoolSculpting® on the outer thighs for an improved skin tone.
Your cellulite problem is a common one. Fortunately, finally there are effective ways to minimize this problem. Perhaps the least invasive one is Cellfina™. Cellfina is the only FDA-cleared minimally invasive, one-time procedure clinically proven to improve the appearance of cellulite for at least two years—the longest FDA-cleared duration for a cellulite treatment. A straightforward solution to cellulite, Cellfina™, combines a proven approach with innovative, proprietary technology, to produce precise, long-lasting results and has a high satisfaction rating on RealSelf. Together with Velashape 3, a non invasive procedure to help "shrink wrap the skin" and further minimize cellulite as a combination treatment is perhaps your best chance for taking care of this tough problem. Cellulaze is also a possible treatment but much more invasive
Cellfina breaks up the tissue that causes dimpling in cellulite. I like to combine it with thermiRF with thermage or ultherapy to tighten skin. I also inject sculptra to get more collagen. Sometimes a VASER hi def treatment is needed with fat grafting to improve the cellulite. Vanquish and Cellutone can also help. Please see a 4D contouring physician. Best, Dr. Emer

Cellfina was approved by the FDA for treatment of cellulite on the buttocks and posterior thighs. It can be used in other areas if true cellulite is present. Obtain an evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist experienced in Cellfina. They can determine if you have cellulite and Cellfina is appropriate for you.
Thank you for your question. Cellfina is an FDA approved minimally invasive procedure that reduces the appearance of cellulite for at least two years on the buttocks and back of the thighs of women. It works by releasing the internal bands that cause the cellulite dimpling and so we have not seen any fat atrophy. You should not see much of a difference with weight gain or loss but this also has not been studied.Other areas of the body with dimpling, it is important to make sure it is truly cellulite before treatment. It is common to have swelling bruising and firmness after the procedure. This can last for a few weeks. It is different than Cellulaze which is a laser. If you have had previous poor results with cellulaze, you can still do Cellfina.Cellfina has shown 100% noticeable improvement and 96% satisfaction in all patients at 2 years. Cellfina is designed to be a one time procedure. It can be used on women with all skin types but caution should be taken if theres a history of keloiding. It can also be combined with other treatments such as Thermi orUlthera if skin tightening is needed. We have done Sculpsure and Coolsculpting if fat reduction is wanted, but its best to wait 3 months to see the results before proceeding. It can also be done at the same time as other procedures such as liposuction and BBL or as a stand alone procedure in the office.Since Cellfina outcomes can be based on technique and experience, please see a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes body contouring to see if Cellfina or other treatments are available to meet your goals. Cellfina works extremely well to treat cellulite. It is ideal for true cellulite - "dimples or puckers". The device is able to sever the fibrous band that causes these dimples or puckers, smoothing the appearance of the skin with a single minimally invasive procedure. Unfortunately, however, it does not address loose skin or stretch marks. In the right patient, the treatment is excellent and results last over 2 years. I would consult with an experienced provider who offers different treatment modalities to determine which procedure will most effectively meet your needs.
Cellfina addresses primary cellulite, which is a result of fibrous bands pulling down on the skin and creating a dimpled appearance. Cellfina is a minimally invasive treatment that uses a mechanical device to cut the band and release the tension, thus improving the contour of the skin. Secondary cellulite is the result of textural irregularity, where the skin appears dimpled due to tissue laxity rather than fibrous bands. Secondary cellulite does not respond to Cellfina, because there are no fibrous bands to target. Our practice treats secondary cellulite with non-invasive body contouring treatments that utilize radiofrequency heat to reduce fatty tissue and tighten skin. Of course, this does not yield a surgical result but does provide a great option for patients who want improved contour with minimal downtime. We recommend an in person consultation with your provider before proceeding with any procedure to ensure the treatment is targeting the cause of cellulite.
Patient selection is critical with Cellfina. A patient must have discrete dimples that can be targeted with the Cellfina device. Cellfina uses a very small blade to sever the fibrous bands that result in the puckered appearance of cellulite. If a patient has loose skin or is more concerned wi...
Thank you for your questionThere will be bruising when it comes to cellfina. Fortunately the brusing usually lasts 6-8 weeks. This is beneficial because everything is a lot smoother. As always I would suggest you to speak to your providerBest Wishes
Cellfina is effective on the buttock and posterior thigh. I would not use that on your anterior thigh. The loose skin is the problem.
