Cellulite affects people of all sizes and body types, occurring most commonly on the thighs and buttocks, and can be one of the most frustrating body issues since it doesn’t respond to diet or exercise. Cellfina™ is minimally invasive and is a great option for people who want to minimize the appearance of cellulite on their thighs and/or buttocks. To get your best results, you may require several treatments. You can also combine Cellfina™ with other treatments and procedures. Some people combine Cellfina™ with CoolSculpting® on the outer thighs for an improved skin tone.
So Cellfina works only on a certain type of cellulite? Are there other options to be used in combination with Cellfina?

Cellfina for cellulite
Cellfina works extremely well to treat cellulite. It is ideal for true cellulite - "dimples or puckers". The device is able to sever the fibrous band that causes these dimples or puckers, smoothing the appearance of the skin with a single minimally invasive procedure. Unfortunately, however, it does not address loose skin or stretch marks. In the right patient, the treatment is excellent and results last over 2 years. I would consult with an experienced provider who offers different treatment modalities to determine which procedure will most effectively meet your needs.
Cellfina targets ALL types of cellulite
There is only one type of cellulite - and it is caused by fibrous bands in the buttocks and thighs of women. Cellfina can correct all of these cases. If you have sagging skin on the front of the thighs then this is not actually cellulite and should not be treated with Cellfina. Many women also have a "banana roll" in the upper posterior thigh. We like to combine liposuction of this area with Cellfina treatment of the dimpled areas to get the best overall results.

Your cellulite problem is a common one. Fortunately, finally there are effective ways to minimize this problem. Perhaps the least invasive one is Cellfina™. Cellfina is the only FDA-cleared minimally invasive, one-time procedure clinically proven to improve the appearance of cellulite for at least two years—the longest FDA-cleared duration for a cellulite treatment. A straightforward solution to cellulite, Cellfina™, combines a proven approach with innovative, proprietary technology, to produce precise, long-lasting results and has a high satisfaction rating on RealSelf. Together with Velashape 3, a non invasive procedure to help "shrink wrap the skin" and further minimize cellulite as a combination treatment is perhaps your best chance for taking care of this tough problem. Cellulaze is also a possible treatment but much more invasive

Hi and thanks for the question. While Cellfina works well, certainly, by it self, you are not receiving a complete treatment to address the cellulite. When combined with micro needling, fat transfer and/or Sculptra treatments, the results, in our experience, is unparalleled to Cellfina treatments alone.

Cellulite -- Vaser Smooth, ThermiRF, Cellfina, Fat Transfer, Subcision
Cellfina breaks up the tissue that causes dimpling in cellulite. I like to combine it with thermiRF with thermage or ultherapy to tighten skin. I also inject sculptra to get more collagen. Sometimes a VASER hi def treatment is needed with fat grafting to improve the cellulite. Vanquish and Cellutone can also help. Please see a 4D contouring physician. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for your question. Cellfina can be an excellent treatment for true dimples but if the skin has laxity then tissue tightening treatments may be beneficial in combination with Cellfina. Injectable fillers or fat grafting may be an option as well depending on candidacy. The only way to determine candidacy is an in person consultation. Best wishes.
