Can you get lip filler while on antibiotics? I’m on levofloxacin & clindamycin.
Answer: Guidelines for Receiving Lip Fillers While on Antibiotics Thank you for your question about receiving lip fillers while on antibiotics. Generally, it is safe to get lip fillers while taking antibiotics like levofloxacin and clindamycin, but there are a few considerations to keep in mind: Consult with Your Provider: It's important to inform your healthcare provider or injector about any medications you are currently taking, including antibiotics. They can provide personalized advice based on your specific situation. Infection Considerations: If you are taking antibiotics due to an active infection, it might be advisable to wait until the infection has resolved before undergoing any elective cosmetic procedures. This is to ensure your body is in optimal condition for healing. Potential Interactions: While there are generally no direct interactions between antibiotics and dermal fillers, your provider will consider your overall health status and the reason for the antibiotic prescription to determine the best timing for your procedure. Allergic Reactions: Ensure you are not experiencing any allergic reactions to the antibiotics, as this could complicate the recovery from a filler procedure. In conclusion, while antibiotics typically do not interfere with lip fillers, it's best to discuss your current medications and health status with your healthcare provider to ensure the safest and most effective treatment plan.

Answer: Lip filler while on antibiotics Hello and thank you for your question. The reason why it is not recommended to have dermal filler while on antibiotics is because we would not want to inject a foreign substance while there is an active infection in the body, particularly around the treatment area. Even though hyaluronic acid in dermal filler is similar to the hyaluronic acid in our body, it is an elective treatment and would be safest to wait until the infection has completely cleared and you are without any residual symptoms. Hope this helps! Esther Litenatsky AGACNP-BC on behalf of Dr. Ran Y. Rubinstein facial plastic surgeon in Newburgh, NY and Montvale, NJ.

Answer: Antibiotics Technically yes you can have lip fillers while on antibiotics. However the more important question is why you are taking antibiotics. It's best to wait until you are free from infection prior to having fillers. Speak to your injector about your specific situation to learn more.

Answer: Lip filler while on antibiotics There is no issue in receiving lip filler while on antibiotics, or any other filler or neuromodulators (e.g. Dysport, Botox). That said, if you have a lip or oral infection or had recent major dental work, likely it would be best to finish treating the infection, e.g. doing filler 2 weeks after your antibiotics are completed.

Answer: I would not recommend While it is safe to have fillers while on antibiotics there can be unwanted side effects which will be temporary but frustrating such as swelling, cold sores, immune reactions etc. These side effects are very variable in nature so you might be totally okay even if you have it. But if you are not in a hurry, just wait until you recover. Good luck
