Antibiotics for breast implant exchange?

During my first breast augmentation I was given antibiotics to take 2 days before surgery and a few days after surgery. I believe I also had an antibiotic IV before surgery. I ended up getting c diff very badly. It took almost a year to hopefully cure it. I am already concerned when I have to get my implants exchanged in years to come. Is it absolutely necessary to take antibiotics for this? I want some opinions so I am aware for next time.
