Dear marie0187,it is not unusual to get mesh and internal bra on one side only. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
From your photograph, your breasts are wider than you chest wall and your breasts appear to be touching in the midline. It may be that the implants are too large. You may benefit from implant reduction on one side as well as inferior and lateral plications.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Hello and thank you for your question. It is not unusual to recommend the use of absorbable mesh to treat unilateral implant malposition. In my practice, I use it to reinforce the repair of the breast capsule when I feel that the capsule is too thin to provide a stable, long lasting result. If the other implant is in good position, there's no need to revise that side. Good luck. I hope this helps.
There is no reason to operate on the unaffected breast. Performing this unilateral surgery is designed to create symmetry. The mesh goes away eventually, leaving you with capsules that match each other in their dimensions and nothing else.
