Does a dorsal hump ever go away like as I age or is it there permanently?

I have a small dorsal hump and would like to get it removed. I would like to know what the price range would be around the Baton Rouge or northern Louisiana. Thanks!! Also, how much would it be to get a dorsal hump removal?

It is not likely that nose hump will disappear. If you are older then 18 your nose has already reached full development and it will not change further. However; rhinoplasty is well established, safe surgery and in some cases may be done in local anesthesia with minimal recovery time and excellent result.You should see a board certified plastic surgeon in your area and discuss your options. The dorsal hump is composed of both bone and cartilage and it must be shaved down in order to remove it to be able to improve the side profile. Once the dorsal hump has been removed, osteotomies are required to be placed in the nasal bones. Assuming you are older than 16-17, surgery is really the only way to remove a hump. Nonsurgical techniques, such as nonsurgical rhinoplasty can be used to camaflouge a hump--it last for about a year.

Nasal humps need to be surgically removed.  Usually additional nasal surgery is required at same time to achieve harmonious outcome from this undertaking.  You will need to see a plastic surgeon to understand this concept fully.

Hi, I have performed many Rhinoplasty Surgeries over the past 30 years.  Non smiling photos of your nose from the front, side and base view (looking up at the nostrils) would help in the evaluation.  Price will vary based on what needs to be done along with the experience of the Rhinoplasty Surgeon.  Be careful not to "shop" for your Rhinoplasty based on price alone.  The only way to reduce a dorsal hump is with a Rhinoplasty.Hope this helps.

If you're at least 16 years old your hump will not go away; nasal growth is complete. Consult with a rhinoplasty specialist to determine if the hump removal isa ll you need because you want a natural balanced nose after surgery.
