Traveling from overseas to the US for BBL - how long should I stay?

My flight returning will be about 10 hours nonstop. From what I've gathered - wear compression socks, walk often, stay hydrated, get a BBL pillow. How long should I plan to stay in the area? How many massages should I get? Would 3 weeks be enough?

Dear sk_surgery,
I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors.It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery

I feel that three weeks would be fine post BBL to travel.  Using the BBL pillow, leg compression and frequent ambulation should be fine.  Massages are a difficult question.  I do not have all of my patients have them.  I do find that they do help some patients moving fluid around and smoothing out bumps, but not required.
