Will rib grafts in revision rhinoplasty soften over time especially the tip?

Thank you for your question. This is a common concern, and certainly one to take into consideration. While rib grafts carry the advantage of adding structure and stability to the nose, they do result in unnatural stiffness. It will soften somewhat over time, but it will always be stiffer than it would otherwise. Most patients don't notice it, but if you're someone who touches your nose often, it may be bothersome to you. I hope this helps, and all the best!

Hi isee218,Hope you are so well. Thank you for this good question. With the rib graft, it would be a bit stiff compared by other grafts of your body. My opinion, it is less likely to be soften in the following years if rib is used. The option is the ear cartilage graft although rib cartilage is ideal.
