An experienced board certified plastic surgeon would perform the optimal breast reconstruction for you and this would include the technical specifics of suture fixation and shaping that are sometimes referred to in the lay literature as an "internal bra". I would advise you not to get too hung up on technical surgical details that are best left int he hands of your plastic surgeon. Once you entrust your surgeon with your care, you are taking on the presumption that he or she will perform the best possible operation for you. Best of luck to you.
Dear Persistent382712,I understand your concern. It is best however that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you can have several aesthetic surgeries in one session, as this would depend on various factors including but not limited to your general health condition, the type of anesthesia that will be used, and the type of surgeries that will be performed among others.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Yes, you can combine an internal bra with a PAP flap. However, it is frequently not necessary. There are instances that if you require a breast lift after your PAP flap and internal bra can be used to provide additional support. Good luck.
The need for an internal bra is based on the overlying skin envelope and the amount of tissue being transferred in the PAP flap.

It is surprisingly difficulty to predict cup size after breast reconstruction. The main reason is that cup sizes are not standardized from one bra company to the next. However, 495 mL implants for a person of your height and frame size will probable achieve a full C/small D breast volume.
Unfortunately, your surgeon is most likely correct. Your right implant can likely be repositioned higher and closer toward the midline. However, the radiation to your opposite breast will make it difficult to permanently reposition this implant. Utilizing autologous tissue, such as a latissimus...
Bra cup sizes are not standardized , so its very difficult to determine the exact cup size, but on an average a cup size is between 150 -200 cc, so a C cup could range between 450- 600 cc. The height and weight of a patient also make a big difference.
Thank you for your question. It may be the different lighting and angle of your photos, but it looks like you have lost weight in addition to having had left breast mastitis and multiple surgeries. If so, did your weight loss affect your breast shape and size? Generally speaking, waiting a...
