Are there any negative effects of multiple (greater than 7) postop steroid injections? (Photo)

I am 1.5 year out of male rhinoplasty and still have significant tip swelling. My doctor assures me that this sometimes occurs, and is offering steroid injections every 2 months of which I have already had 7. I am recommended for more. Are there any adverse effects to consider given the amount of steroid injections I require...and is there a maximum number that can be given or a time frame after which none would be recommended?

Unfortunately, you have not provided a lateral view. It may be that the angle of your nose lip junction is elevated, perhaps due to the muscle and this may be the problem. Additional views are needed to give you a more accurate answer. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

I can see what you circled in your photo, and I agree with you that it appears to be an epicanthal fold. We have not seen anyone with a significant change in their upper eyelid appearance after 25 years of performing rhinoplasty surgeries. Please consider re-asking your question with both before...
