When can I apply lotion after facial fat grafting?

When can i apply moisterizers and lotions and wash my face after facial fat grafting? I suffer from acne and would like to know when to continue to use any acne creams too. thank you

In general; it is recommended to avoid lotions on the surgical sites for at least 1 week. However, you can moisturize any other areas.

Yet, it is important to follow the recommendations given by your surgeon.

You’ll need to ask your provider, because each provider will have their own policies. One of the main principles of tissue grafting, or any type of grafting is immobilization. Adding pressure or movement early after tissue grafting can create a loss of the graft or increase graft failure. This generally implies applying pressure. If you had the procedure recently within the last few weeks, then you should be extremely gentle with pressure against any of the treated areas. If you’re applying lotion and don’t press hard with your fingers, but be as absolutely gentle as you can. The most critical time for this is the first week or two after the procedure. Each provider will have their own view and recommendation, so I suggest you contact your provider.
