Cheek separation. Why do I get a gap between the side of my nose and my cheek when I smile? (Photo)

Why do I get a gap between the side of my nose and my cheek when I smile? I assume this is muscle related, because it’s not apparent at rest. Is there anything that can be done to minimize the appearance while smiling?
