Weak chin/neck fat and chubby cheeks? (Photo)

Question

Hello! I am only 25 but I have no definition in my jawline and my cheeks are so chubby that they give me nose folds. I've noticed that I have a very weak chin and I plan on having it enhanced as well as my buccal fat pads reduced but will that be enough to get the defined jawline I dream of or will I need neck liposuction ? And if that's the case, can a non surgical option do the job? (Kybella, Cryo..) Thank tou very much!

Thanks for your question and photos. There are a few options available that could potentially treat fat under the chin and define facial features. Non invasive solutions include Kybella and laser treatments, which in my opinion have less than optimal results. Surgical option would be liposculpture of the areas of concern and complimenting that with a chin implant for a more defined jaw line and profile. Alternatively, liposuction combined with skilled fat transfer along the actual jawline to make it more pronounced including the chin is a good option especially in mild to moderate situations. Best to get an in-person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss individual procedures that suit you.

Liposculpture of the neck and jawline can make a dramatic difference in the appearance of many who have a fatty neck and a "baby face". liposuction of the neck and the jaw line can give a well defined and crisp jawline which makes many people look younger. It also, helps those with under-developed chins. A good candidate for neck liposuction is someone of a younger or mid age who still has good skin elasticity and no hanging neck skin folds.

I find that VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF are best for contouring the chin in those who are candidates, but Kybella can be used as an alternative and needs to be combined with thermage/ultherapy/exilis or coolsculpting for good results. The best way to advise you would be to have a personal consult to touch the skin and tissues in the jw line and chin area to assess for soft tissue and bone .  Based on the picture alone the easiest and more likely treatment to give you definition is chin micro lipo.  Thanks

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your
photograph, you may benefit from a chin implant for
improved jaw line contour.  I always use a medpor implant with screw
fixation, which stays in place over time.  A silicone chin implant has a
high rate of malrotation over time.  Make
sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients
who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer
animation system. The most important aspect is to find a
surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a
qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

Thanks for your question and posting photos. 
It is difficult to do a complete evaluation without photos from multiple angles or an in-person evaluation. That being said, based on the profile photo it does appear the chin is lacking in projection- or "weak." Having a chin augmentation with an implant, fat transfer, or bony advancement may be treatment options after undergoing a complete examination. With the added volume and projection, the chin and the soft tissues around the jaw and neck will get stretched and advanced to some degree, which will help in achieving a more defined jawline. A buccal fat pad removal likely will not significantly improve the jawline definition, but it can help to create a more angled appearing face. You do not appear to have enough fat in the neck to warrant liposuction or Kybella. 
Getting an in person consultation with a board certified or board eligible plastic surgeon is essential. A complete examination will be able to be performed, which likely will also include an evaluation of your teeth, your bite, and your bony anatomy, which may all be contributing to possibly having a weak chin. From there, your plastic surgeon will be able to discuss your treatment options.

Dear Mbsb1993,Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office.  I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable.  It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. You look very attractive but I agree that properly executed cosmetic surgery will improve your appearance. I think a combination of liposuction of the neck and a chin implant would work very will. If the underlying problem is malocclusion of your teeth, maxillofacial surgery might be indicated.
