I have seen many complications from steroid injections into this area, if at too high a dose and if too superficial. I would suggest have a formal evaluation, but you may be better off with fractional laser treatment and topical vitamin A creams over steroid injections. Best, Dr. Emer.
Hi DNCA. It's difficult to tell from the photo, but if the scar you are referring to is raised, then it would be a potential candidate for steroid injections. Best bet would be to go to a consultation to show it to the injector in person. To see an example of what steroids can do to shrink raised scar, you can view a keloid scar before and after picture at the link below.
Best to have your dermatologist assess the area in person. There are a few ways to flatten down what may be a scar from an old pimple, but best to make sure there isn't something else going on there.
Your picture seems to show skin-toned bumps. I do not see significant inflammation or redness/swelling, nor does it appear to be a thickened scar of some sort. Though if I saw you in person, I would use a dermoscope (magnifying) light to examine for scar. If there is no inflammation or scar, steroid injection treatment is unlikely to benefit or improve the bumps. Instead if they're persistent skin-toned bumps, they are more likely to be benign nevi or papules (sebaceous hyperplasia, milia, angiofibroma, etc.), present in same place as a prior pimple by concidence. It is common to get benign bumps on the nose with age. They could be removed with a gentle shave excision method by a dermatologist. I recommend you see a board-certified dermatologist for further in-person evaluation.
You need to be evaluated in person and it depends on what is underneath; cartilage, scar tissue etc. I recommend you have it checked out and dealt with by your plastic surgeon.
So, the treatment of a lump after injection of a hyaluronic acid is pretty straightforward. You can use hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid, to remove the bulge. As far as a permanent treatment of the fold, I would not recommend it. There is an adage -...
Fat should be fairly permanent after the initial loss of some volume. however, this does not meanthat you should expect it to be perfect. Radiesse is an excellent filler that usually last 1.5 - 2.0 years oreven longer. a Fat transfer will be more expensive. this is a better alternative to a face...
Hi @yellowsubmarine. I recommend seeking treatments from expert injectors who have the skill and experience to precisely inject fillers into treatment areas and avoid risks and complications. Best of luck, Dr. Nima
